Pastor Nicholson Moves to UAMM as Full Time Administrator
PLEASE KNOW THAT BISHOP NICHOLSON DID NOT RESIGN FROM HIS POST AT THE ANCHORAGE MORAVIAN CHURCH. HE HAS SIMPLY MOVED INTO ANOTHER POSITION HIGHER UP INTO UAMM’S position as President/Administrator. The AncMC is still where he attends and supports totally! The following is his last message as Senior Pastor of AncMC:
God’s presence is upon us tonight! God loves it when we come together to let Him know we love him and want to bless Him and learn from him and respond to His love.
Tonight is my last message as Pastor of the Anchorage Moravian Church (AncMC). I end my almost 16 years as Senior Pastor of the AncMC and feel a bit of grief and loss, but thankful that the Joint Boards of the AncMC have released me so I can better do my work as a Bishop. The AncMC will continue to be my home church. It is my request that all of you pray for the leaders of the church, be regular in your attendance, tithe sacrifically, and that God will continue to allow this church to grow under new pastoral leadership.
Tonight my proper title will be Bishop and I will speak as President of United Alaska Moravian Ministry group (UAMM), which is having a training event this week at this week for its pastors and spiritual leaders of 18 Churches and Fellowships. It’s a critical week for the future of UAMM.
Before I share further I would like to request that Brother Harry Nicholai come forward to explain the background for his song entitled “Frozen Fire”. This is a song, which he wrote in 1992. It appears that this could be UAMM’s theme song. (Note: Harry did a wonderful job explaining and a group with Billy Olsen sang the song for the first time publically).
The lyrics of Frozen Fire is as follows:
1. Just like Elijah of old, the modern Prophets of God, seek for the guidance of the Holy Spirit, for
Chorus: Out of the Frozen North Land, comes a fire like no-other, which no man will ever put out, and
2. Just like Jesus, was born, “little Israel” is born of God, to inspire the rest of the world, for (Chorus)
3. A fire is lit, within the confines of each heart, desiring for a closer walk
that draws one’s heart to the will of God, and (Chorus)
4. Becoming United in Alaska and being inspired of God through the Holy
Spirit to tell others of a future being united with God, forever, and (Chorus)
I don’t feel the power of God tonight, but I know it’s there. Paul the Apostle never asked people to pray for the power of the Spirit of God to rest on him. He knew he had the anointing (Romans 15:29). It says in verse 29 – “And I am sure that, when I come unto you, I shall come in the fullness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ”. God was with him. Later in Ephesians 6:19-20, his prayer request was, “That utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make know the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains, that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
Pau’s concern was to speak boldly what God wanted Him to speak. He was God’s ambassador. Paul knew the power of God is released through the preaching of the gospel, He says in Romans 1:6 – it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes”. Every time it is preached it creates. It is a wonderful moment when the Holy Spirit acts, as He feels free to act. Scripture does not need to be proved; it proves itself in our lives.
IF WE preach the gospel, IT CAN TURN THE WORLD UPSIDE DOWN! Acts 17:6: And when they found them not, they drew Jason and certain brethren unto the rulers of the city, crying, These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also;
There have been so many prophesies shared in the last 10-15 years about the Native people of Alaska coming together where the fire of God will come down. The “last people” (the last shall be first) can turn the world upside down! It’s going to happen among us, because we love the Holy Spirit and we love the Word of God. The message we all need to proclaim is the Good News of the Gospel: I agree with Evangelist Iply George. His Celestrial Traveler message is turning the world upside down. The devil doesn’t like it. Iply is under attack like never before. We are under attack any time we preach the word of God in sincerity and power. Certainly we know that Jesus is coming soon, so we need to assure that the gospel gets out!
Our work through this Church, the AncMC and your Churches, through UAMM is being noticed by the world! Harry’s song Frozen Fire is prophetic of what will happen later. His song speaks of the fire coming among us. It’s been that way for several years folks!
I think back several years ago, at our red building at Robin street, in Anchorage, Alaska. I was given a gift; a very expensive traditional Inputiat necklace, made of jade, ivory, mammoth tusk, scrimshaw. Here it is; given by former Evangelist/Apostle Michael Curtis and his wife, Barbara. I was reluctant at first to receive it, but Barbara said prophetically that Pastor/Bishop doc – “you are a man of God that the world will see!” She said that I would rise to the “highest levels in the Lord’s work and I would need it”.
My first trip as a missionary was to Honduras where there was a mighty move of God last December 2016. Before I left Honduras’s capital city, Tegucigalpa, I was invited to a special Moravian pastor’s worship meeting. While there the Spirit of God came down as we were dancing before the Lord. A man came to me, and looked me in the face closely and frighten me with his big eyes and wild gyrations. Later I had an opportunity to speak with him. He said the reason why he was excited was that while we were dancing in the Spirit he had a vision of end days fire falling on the earth. There were some big ones but the biggest one fell on Alaska where I came from. That’s why he had to look at me closely with great excitement. .
God moves and defends His remnant! The bible warns those who oppress God’s anointed. It has not been easy, but the Anchorage Moravian Church, its pastors, and its leaders were persecuted for standing up for the Holy Ghost moving among our people. If you are being persecuted God will stand up for you. We must fear God, not man. It’s Christ’s Church. Christ will protect what he wants. God is sovereign and sometimes he allows conflict to double the gospel, such as the conflict between Paul and Barnabas. He will move people through His Word, through dreams and visions. I would like to call Sister Nellie Kiunya to share what she saw before our delegation traveled to Herrnhut. Note: She went to the mike and related her dream supporting UAMM’s success in Germany)
The UAMM pre-entity was organized around 2011-2012 and in November 2012 in Herrnhut, Germany, by action of the Moravian Unity Board became known formerly as United Alaska Moravian Ministry (UAMM). We were recognized with all the rights as a Moravian Ministry Group by the global community. At the time UAMM was a small entity made up of three Churches, Manokotak’s Nanraumali Ayauun Moravian Church, Kenai Peninsula Moravian Church, and Anchorage Moravian Church. In February 2013 we entered a special partnership with the Honduras Moravian Province, which we are still working on today.
In August 2016, because UAMM’s leadership stood against the homosexual agenda worldwide, UAMM was excluded from the Moravian Unity. It did not become clear to us at the time (until later), but Abraham George earlier in March 2016 had a vision at Governor Walker’s Prayer breakfast regarding the sleeping giant that wake up and raised the undefiled flag. The exclusion from the Moravian Unity gave us strength to band together even more to grow UAMM as a missions entity. By February 2017, UAMM continued to grow and had 18 Churches and Fellowships under it’s umbrella organization.
Within the last year UAMM joined in partnership with another Moravian entity which has churches in Tanzania headed up by Bishop Emmaus Mwambakula who before forming a new revival entity had a church with over 1,000 members. Currently Bishop Mwambakul is heading up a multi-church effort with tremendous growth potential in Tanzania, Africa. He is working in fellowship with UAMM to strengthen a Moravian and non-denominational undefiled global movement. Also this week a man with Asian connections in the Phillipines and Cambodia is in conversation with us to establish a fellowship connection, which will extend UAMM’s work.
Again, all of this happened because of persecution from the Traditional Church, and it’s a long story that needs to be told. It’s ok, like Paul and Barnabas’s conflict it led to doubling of the Kingdom work of our Lord and Savior.
UAMM was created as a small group of Churches that were forced to withdraw from the Alaska Moravian Province, became recognized as a Moravian group in the Unity, was thrown out later by the Unity due to opposition from the established Church but NOW has regained new life as a global group that is providing a undefiled covering and partnership for Churches in Africa, the Phillipines, Cambodia, and it looks like a lot of interest throughout America and other parts of the world.
The future looks good. It has been prophesied that the time will come when UAMM will be in fellowship with the Alaska Moravian Province, which to this dates rejects UAMM’s Moravian heritage status. There is no need to put any religious entity or Church, or Province down; instead we must pray for God’s blessing and we look to the day when we shall be in unity in line with Christ’s high priestly prayer.
The time is running short, so let me close quickly. Today there is an official in the global Moravian Community that shared with me by phone. They view UAMM as “Little Israel, a small nation with the fire of God’s Spirit that never stops!”. Harry’s song, “Frozen Fire” prophesied this.
God has favored UAMM’s undefiled movement. It is a movement that will not stop. If you know of any group or family that has been rejected by the Spirit of Religion, send them our way. Iply has traveled as of last May to 100 villages of Alaska. I have been invited to five nations as of today; there is no more delay. Hindrances are being taken away. There will be an explosion of God’s work as we all agree to work together, pray together, tithe regularly, and be willing to move out intentionally to fulfill the Great Commission.
Please remember In Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Jesus is the only way. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus, water baptism and the in-filling of the Holy Ghost was proclaimed to both Jew and Gentile.
As the early church shared they were intentional in sharing the gospel. Evangelism did not just happen by coincidence. They were intentional in their efforts, they made it a part of their daily lives. From the very beginning , the Holy Ghost enabled the Church to be effective witnesses throughout the world. Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses.
The New Testament Church exploded and expanded the Kingdom of God in incredible ways. May this be an example for us to follow, not fearing man, but God.
