The public is cordially welcomed to attend a special Moravian New Year’s Eve service on December 31, 2010, 11 pm, at 3512 Robin Street, in Anchorage, Alaska. This New Year’s Eve one hour long service is called a “WATCHNIGHT SERVICE”, in which we will prepare together to allow the old out and to welcome the new. At the Watcnight service biblical promises will be passed out to all worshippers and everyone will have an opportunity to share their thanksgiving for the Old Year that God so richly provided. According to Moravian tradition, the pastor should begin a sermon as midnight approaches. As the clock strikes midnight in the Anchorage Moravian Church the organist begins playing the hymn – “Now Thank We All our God” (in other Moravian Church in the lower 48 states, a trombone choir or other kind of band) effectively cutting off the sermon in mid-stream. This is one time when the pastor has to abandon his message and joins the congregation in singing the hymn, “Now Thank We All Our God.” Ever wonder what the interruption signifies? The home Church of United Alaska Ministry Group (UAMM) is the Anchorage Moravian Church, which is one among a growing group of 23 Churches and Fellowships in Alaska and the lower 48 states. UAMM is in fellowship with 1,000s of other Moravians and non-Moravians under the Moravian Revival Church in Tanzania, The Moravian Revival Church in Kenya, Evangelical Churches in Uganda, Allied Mission Church in Asia (Philippines & Cambodia), and is in relationship with three Moravian Churches in Honduras.

REGULAR MORAVIAN WORSHIP SERVICE IS at St. Mary Episcopal Church, 2 pm, Sunday afternoon. This church is located at 2222 Tudor Road, Anchorage, Alaska.
Sunday night non-denominational singspiration continues, 6 pm at the Guest House, located at 330 W. 4th Avenue, but on February 25, 2018, 6 pm we will begin Singspiration at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church.
Sunday School is expected to resume soon at St. Mary’s at 1 pm after March 4, 2018.
Wednesday Night Bible Study & Prayer, 6 pm, St. Marys.

1st Moravian Church of Anchorage is a new congregation/fellowship that began over four years ago. This congregation is administered under the Alaska Province. It meets weekly on C Street in downtown Anchorage at the Evangelical 1st Covenant Church. UAMM’s website address has a button up on top right, if anyone desires to access the Alaska Province website.
