The Local Church Must Be Respected

The following is a message Pastor William NIcholson gave Sunday October 21, 2012 at the Anchorage Moravian Church. Text for Message: Matthew 16:18-19 (KJV) Jesus words, “And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven” Count Nicholas von Zinzendorf believed in the concept of the fellowship of the believer. A book entitled Count Zinzendorf: A Brief History of the Lord’s Recovery, which was authored by James Reetzke and published by Chicago Bibles and Books shares that the early Moravians cultivated friendship among other children of God. Zinzendorf felt that wherever the Moravians went, they should come together for meetings open to all believers. These were to be informal gatherings having simplicity, warmth, and the open sharing of the joy and fellowship in the Lamb.
