Moravian Seminary Director Letter to Pastors, Elders, and Seminary Friends
By The Rev. Ray Caldwell, Dean of Alaska Moravian Seminary & Theological Institute
Feb 17, 2006, 15:21

 Printer friendly page

Some of you will remember when you were seminary students.  The work was hard; you wondered if the school year would ever come to an end and if it would be worth it all.  Well, here it is years later and you survived.  Every wish you could go back for a refresher course or two?  You just might want to give that a try.

In the next couple of months we will be getting into some great courses.  This week we will be starting a two week course in the New Testament survey, taught by Pastor Rond Mancini.  He is a fantastic pastor and teacher!  Following this we will have two weeks of Biblical Preaching by Pastor Wayne Byerly from the Southern Province (of the Moravian Church in America).  This course will be a great opportunity for our students to learn to preach.  If that were not enough, we will have scheduled courses in Eschatology, Evangelism/Discipleship, Apologetics II, and will close with the Pastor Elder Retreat the end of April.  Have I sparked your interest?  Give me a call at 907-543-4382.

It might seem early in the year to begin the process of recruiting a student body for the coming school year.  Yes, it is early, but the students in our high schools are already in the process of deciding what they are going to do with their futures.  The seminary offers its students a valid direction for their lives.  Our Lord has openings for men and women to work in His harvest fields.

Our mission at the seminary is to "train and equip leaders for Alaska and beyond."  You can be a valuable resource to the people in your churches, villages and beyond.  You can recommend they give the Alaska Moravian Seminary a try.

We can be reached at 907-543-4382, fax 907-543-5691, email at akmorsem@unicom-alaska.com or at P.O. Box 2084, Bethel, Alaska 99559.
