2005 Report on Hospital Chaplaincy

During 2005, in the absence of Pastor William Nicholson, generally speaking, I visited the hospital patients except on Mondays and Tuesdays.  I made visits, again, generally speaking on Mondays and Tuesdays when I was called and asked to make special visits on these days.  I made home visits from time to time as needed.  I also visited patients from denominations other than the Moravians when I was asked to make such visits by the patients themselves or their family members.

In late August of 2005, I officiated a full funeral service of Mr. John of Houston, Alaska as the request of his family.

In the middle of October 2005, when it became apparent that Rev. Fred Nielsen and his wife were not going to return to Anchorage for Pastor Nielsen to resume his duties as Visitation Pastor of the Anchorage Moravian Church, the Board of Elders decided that it was best to seek someone from among the talented members of the Anchorage Moravian Church to replace Rev. Nielsen on an interim basis.  Once this decision was made, the Board of Elders, after a series of discussions as to who they were going to ask to fill this position, asked me to serve as Interim Visitation Pastor of the Anchorage Moravian Church and I accepted the offer.  I thank God that I was chosen to serve Him in this capacity by the Board of Elders of the Anchorage Moravian Church.

This same Report will be submitted to the Synod of the Alaska Moravian Church next week since I am responsible to them and are paid a salary by them.

This report is similar in nature as the report I submitted on the Hospital Chaplaincy in 2005.
