Women’s Fellowship Ciuliqagteq’s Meeting

September 5, 2002

Present: Carrie Paton, President; Helen McGeary, Vice-President; Alice Hess, Treasurer; Grace Haroldsen, Spiritual Leader.

Luncheon meeting of the Anchorage Moravian Church Women’s Fellowship Leaders was held at Carrie Paton’s home on September 5, 2002 at 1 pm.

Our formal meeting began at 1:50 pm with Vice President Helen McGeary opening the meeting with a kneeling down prayer, where we humbled ourselves before God asking for His guidance and direction with our Women’s Fellowship meetings, which are to begin next week.

Carrie Paton passed out a calendar for September AMC Activities with a list of who’s leading on specific Thursday nights.

We discussed finishing up the Harvest From The First Fruits for the next several meetings and for the leader to include a devotional reading from the Moravian Daily Text or other devotional reading. Carrie has emailed Bethel Moravian Church Secretary but has had no response yet. Grace will check and see if the Bethel Moravian Book Store has any new Women’s Fellowship Study or Devotional Books if she goes to Bethel next week.

The Agenda for the Thursday night meetings will stand as same as last year. We will continue to meet at the TUMC at 6:30 pm 8 or 8:30pm, upstairs in the Sunday school room. We will sew or do craftwork from 6:30-7 pm; begin our Fellowship service with a song or two and a Prayer; devotional reading; offering; Sharing and/or testimony; Closing

Prayer. And then practice a song for Sunday.

We made a unanimous decision to have a Potluck and Choir Practice on the last Thursday of the month at Carrie’s home, Septmeber26 at 6 pm, where all interested singers and musicians could get together, including men.

It was appointed to have Alice Hess buy items for our sewing and craftwork. We discussed getting more wrinkle free pillow cases, embroidery thread, crochet hooks, flannel material. Carrie will donate qaspeq material if anyone is interested in making qaspeqs.

Carrie will buy raffle tickets to raffle the Afghan donated to the Women’s Fellowship from Ledia Scott. This coming Sunday we will make a formal announcement in Church regarding the starting up of our Women’s Fellowship meetings and bring the Afghan to begin our fund raising effort.

We briefly discussed reaching out to young mothers and college students. Also starting a little newsletter and handout. Will discuss next meeting.

We will start using Robert’s Rule of Order so that we have clear agenda and goals when we meet as leaders.

Next meeting set for first Saturday of the month, October 5, 2002, 1 pm at Carrie’s.

We practiced a song for Sunday and Carrie closed the meeting with a brief prayer.
